Ducc Hudson

A Passionate Media "Goblin"

Hi! I'm Ducc, said like the bird, duck. I'm non-binary, filled with energy and love to learn, earning me the nickname, Goblin.

I love to create and am infatuated by art of all kinds. My dream is to make things for people to experience, whether this is a story rich game, beautiful documentary or comedy series.

I adore a sense of community and love to fight for what's right and spread people's stories. With my privilege of Autism and ADHD I cannot half do any task, even if I, for some reason, wanted to.

I love a good story...

And I love to hear and share people's stories, So here is mine! I remember my passion for media starting when walking in to my cousin playing Spore in the spare room of my granny's house. It blew my tiny mind to think people can create things like this game for other people to experience and love. Said cousin went on to work in the games industry and continues to be a big inspiration for me to this day!

Medically I have had it a bit rough, I was in and out of hospital during my GCSE's speed running Crohn's Disease. This did unfortunately mean subjects with no coursework, like Maths, RE and Business, I was unable to get my GCSE in.

After high school I went on to do my BTEC (level 3) In game development where my Crohn's reached its worse point and I had to get an emergency Ileostomy which has saved my life.  From there I did my HND in Motion Graphics and am ready to take on the industry!

Feb 13th 2024 - Current:  I am taking part in the LCCC Digital Skills academy to help learn new skills including use of AI, AI prompt engineering, Social media strategy, SAO, cybersecurity and  developing employment skills for the digital and technology sector

June 2023: I Had the honor of being part of Ant and Dec's Make it in Media course. I was the editorial for a 12 minute live TV show called 'Ats Us NI'. I met so many amazing people from the industry and learned valuble teamwork skills.

Jan 2023 – April 2023: I worked in Front of House as well as a Sushi Chef. It was an extremely fast-paced job that relied on you being quick on your feet and quicker with your hands. Time management and communication were defiantly key in this kitchen and hospitality environment.

October 2021 – Jan 2023: Primark was a great introduction in to working with people and keeping customers happy.

September 2020 – 2022 June: I studied at E3 campus of Belfast Metropolitan College during the COVID years. This not only got me good skills learning to work remotely and the importance of communication but I was able to work though that and still get my qualification.

September 2018 – 2020 July: I did my BTEC in the TQ Campus of Belfast Metropolitan College. It was a great introduction in to the industry and though my own medical problems and the start of COVID I was able to finish with a grade I was proud of. This has taught me to be very determined, as you can always prevail!
